March Gone Crazy ^_^
Hey everyone!
It has indeed been a long time... To justify myself I need to say that this month was hectic! So many things happened both good and not good at all, and I had so little time to indulge myself in my little blog and make it look more colourful and fresh as it is spring now and the Easter holidays are near too! I'm excited!
Well, as I have promised last time, I will discuss those two perfumes I was going to get in February. The first one I heard so much about and was waiting for so long is the Felicity by Oriflame, so here you go!

I just love the bottle - looks so oriental and vintage. The potion inside however left me a bit so so... After reading some of the reviews this one was a definite blind buy, especially after I acquainted myself with the notes in the perfume! All those vanilla, cinnamon, woodsy notes and some flowers initially seemed like this should be the ideal collaboration to form my favourite gourmand signature scent. But there is this powdery-resin undertone that puts me off a bit. I thought what was the missing ingredient there, and thought that missing thing could be orange maybe and I tried mixing the Felicity with some orange oil. Meh, I still get that powder :(.
However, I find this formula very interesting. It is definitely sweet, spicy, woodsy oriental type. For those of you who like heavy scents, will definitely enjoy it. In case you were wondering what are the exact ingredients in this bottle:
Top Notes: Cinnamon, Amalfi lemon, Peach and Plum
Mid notes: Jasmine, African orange flower, Freesia and Lily of the valley
Base notes: Musk, Sandalwood, Benzoin and Vanilla
Yes, it would have smelt much better with less sandalwood and no benzoin I think! If I had the chance to experiment with the formula.....
***
And the second one which I decided to get was a first time launch of the product and again from the same Oriflame and as usual the pioneer batch is always the best one - give it some time and the formula gets worse and the perfume lasts only for 5 minutes. This has always been the case with this brand. Oh well, the next one is called First Rendez Vous.

I really like this scent! It is fresh and light, is well suited for spring daytime and the office. It is gone after a while (1 hour max. for my skin chemistry) but the bottle is not pricey at all so I guess it is affordable to refresh it twice or so in a day. Comes in 30ml bottle and it looks like ice cubes stuck together, but I like it. So generic and calm. The notes are:
Top: Freesias
Mid: Nougat
Top: Freesias
Mid: Nougat
Base: Vanilla
As it sounds from the notes it should have been more of a gourmand scent, but surprise - smells very floral to me :) Freesias are my most favourite flowers because of the great scent, however in this bottle mixed with sweeter neighbouring ingredients they change the original smell of flowers. The First Rendez Vous is actually rather sweet, but fresh at the same time. Good job Oriflame! Too bad the lingering time is so short!
