PRADA CANDY L'Eau
Hello Everybody!
And I finally got my lovely bottle with this beautiful potion inside so now I feel oh-so-awesome!
Look how well it goes with my TB cosmetic bag! I love the pink and black combo! Looks very subtle and feminine.
I remember when I first tested the original Prada Candy (2011), I thought it was a poison. However, by the time the perfume had settled down on my skin I understood its depth and beauty. On the other hand I fell in love with the lighter version with a bit of a different composition which still smells similar to the original, but much nicer to my nose at least. I am a huge fan of gourmand scents and Prada Candy L'Eau (2013) too is no exception. It reminds me of sweet caramels and toffees you buy in the streets and the benzoin just adds more powdery scent. I probably subconsciously long for the benzoin smell due to its healing and warming characteristics, so any kind of perfume that has this ingredient in it smells just very balsamic for me.
So the notes in this potion are very simple, nothing too complicated and not too many combinations.
Top note is just citrus, probably all sorts of citruses.
Heart of the potion is the sweet pea - I can swear I smell vanilla too!
And the base is composed of white musk, benzoin and caramel.
Just like the original this one too is created by a perfumer whose name is Daniela Andrier. She has created many perfumes for Prada, starting from 2007. Infusion D'Iris is also her creation. And there will be another Candy Florale coming out this year. I wonder what that would be like - that is I freaking want to test it! :)
As you can imagine this one smells citrusy sweet and a bit powdery. But I do love it. It smells really sophisticated and makes me feel much more confident and a bit more flirty. I smell all good and tasty and I always want to be able to smell it during the day. I was a bit afraid at first that I might get a headache from too much sweetness or the caramel, but actually this was a very great surprise - it is gentle, balsamic, vanilla pretty as in a soft pastel cake just like the design of the bottle suggests (as opposed to the original composition which I think is a more heavy and more aggressive).
The design of the bottle is also cool. I like having this bottle in my bag, feels like I am carrying a gem inside it! There is this engraving on top right under the sprayer - Prada Candy. I know this is just a minor thing but I do love noticing small things. They just get caught by my eye and if I enjoy them then they become a small bonus to love the bottle for :)))
Oh, and I really wanted to share the adverts of the perfume campaign which were directed by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola and the actress that plays Candy is a French actress and a model Lea Seydoux.
