Diptyque Philosykos for Women and Men
Hello again!
Since I have been thinking of more natural and sweeter scents recently, tI will tell you about my love for Philosykos by Diptyque this time. This is a very warm and milky drydown scent to my nose which makes me feel safe and relaxed. At the first sniff it might seem way too green, however when it starts developing on the skin it turns into coconutty, milky fig which is very very close to the actual fruit smell.

Diptyque is a French niche perfume house on Boulevard Saint Germain 34 with quite a long history for its unique and sensual scents, and Philosykos is created by Olivia Giacobetti in 1996. She is considered to have a certain delicacy when it comes to mixing notes and creating a scent. Olivia has worked typically for niche perfume houses and has an experience with fig scent 2 years before Philosykos. She is the nose behind Premier Figuier for L'Artisan Parfumeur.
Now, top notes for Philosykos are fig and fig leaf, mid notes are coconut and green and base notes are cedar, woody and fig tree. As you can see everything in this scent is about the fig but at some point it feels like the coconut is way too sweet and dusty and also the woody notes add to the feeling. Mine is the EDT 50ml. EDP is really deep, but if you prefer lighter version go for the EDT which is a lot lighter and less concentrated, so you definitely have the greener opening with lots of fig freshness. Later during the day it gets this soothing milky and woody warmth that makes anyone comfortable and chilled.
I was quite lucky to learn that especially one shop in my city has targeted both niche and interesting perfumes. Hermitage has become a favourite shop of mine when it comes to experimenting and discovering something new in the scent range. If you know Diptyque, you will understand my attitude towards the beautiful and natural Philosykos. If you have never smelled it, then I definitely recommend you do so. Just for the sake of knowing what is smells like. I understand some people will find it linear, others will hate smelling like a fruit, but this scent deserves to be tested.
