Escada Fiesta Carioca EDT

Hey everyone after a long long time!

Today I just had an inspiration to write about a perfume which I bought for summer holidays last year in 2017 (when it came out) and for some reason I ended up leaving it home. Such a shame, because now when I smell it, it reminds me of my holidays - the food, the drinks, the sea and the general vibe of being in Spain!

Escada Fiesta Carioca is another limited edition to mark yet another summer party. It's a typical fruity-floral scent. To my nose it smells sweet tropical-exotic fruit cocktail and there is something very soothing in the dry down. I am assuming it is one the notes that makes me relaxed and soothed. And that effect is created by benzoin.

The top notes of the perfume consist of passion fruit, raspberry and violet leaf. Out of these three I definitely get the passion fruit and a little bit of dusty violet leaf (violet leaf has that association with the airy, dusty smell in my mind). I cannot claim that there is no raspberry in here, however it's not too sickeningly much which I really appreciate.

Middle notes consist of passion flower, orange blossom and jasmine. Now, jasmine is really nicely mixed with the orange blossom and they are not too strong, they go really unnoticed hand in hand. Not too sure what to say about the passion flower, since the fruitiness covers all the other notes, it kind of wraps them in that juicy splash.

The base notes are musk, cedar and benzoin. I can swear there is no trace of cedar here. As the perfume settles in and closer to the dry down, I get that whiff of musk and soothing warm benzoin. In my head it is like the warm humid summer breeze bringing along some pleasant warmth.

To tell the truth, I had been reading so many reviews on this, and I need to mention that since I live in a very dry climate, this is easily wearable in summer heat and the fruits in it don't go off while on the skin, but rather create the idea that you have just taken a shower and your hair's still wet. I am not sure how it would behave in humid climates, but I am looking forward to trying it out somewhere else. :)

Now with some of the skin chemistry his perfume might not work well - some might complain of sour tartness. Nonetheless, I like this scent, it is very inoffensive, sits very close to my skin, has a good silage, and the lasting power is almost the whole day. I need to say this perfume is a little bit of a linear one, does not undergo too many phases of opening on the skin. You just have two: the opening fruity floral splash, and the soothing, calming dry down. And yet again, on me most of the perfumes go sweeter as they dry down (almost vanilla-like sweet), and I guess that is why I never get that "sour" problem.

I am definitely starting to wear this more as days are becoming warmer and sunnier! After all it's spring, so hey ho! Go on and give this one a try if possible. I am sure it's worth a sniff. :)
