Miss Dior Cherie Blooming Bouquet 2008 CHRISTIAN DIOR

Let's talk about Miss Dior Cherie Blooming Bouquet today.

I personally get really annoyed when such popular and high end beauty brands start producing reformulations of their original fragrances and experimenting with them endlessly. The worst part is they continue keeping the name and adding some "Blooming Bouquet", "Absolutely Blooming", etc. to the original name and when the least successful ones come out of production the customers are left confused and annoyed. Now we all know that's a marketing trick, however it also proves that the derivatives usually are not as impressive or worthy of buying.

This bottle that I own was introduced in 2008. I think I bought it sometime in either 2010 or 2011. And for a reason it was left unattended on my shelf until recently. Let's have a look at the notes first: top - mandarin orange, middle - peony, and base - musk. This is a very weak summer water. I mean it in a good way. The staying power is weak indeed, it's an EDT after all. If you remember the Dior Miss Dior from 2012 (which is yet another reformulation of Miss Dior Cherie EDP from 2011), imagine all the original sweetness and depth from patchouli, jasmine and rose are gone in Blooming Bouquet, the floral note is basically replaced by peony. If I am not mistaken Cherie Blooming Bouquet has gone out of production already. :D

This is a very simple and linear scent to my nose. There is a slight impression of chypre note in the drydown (which is probably what makes Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Miss Dior smell in a way similar). It's very suitable to wear in hot summer season. Anyway, you would need to carry the bottle in your bag or have a smaller size atomizer to re-apply the scent on you once in a while. I like this perfume, yet I cannot claim I love it. It's just a classy Dior scent, not very offensive to your and other people's noses in very hot seasons. It is a light breeze of the original minus all the sweetness. It's all about the water! It's watery, but not mouthwatering.

Hope you are having a great summer this year! I always wonder what perfumes people like to take with them on holidays, how they make their choices, based on what. Or do they buy a new perfume while on a holiday?
:) Until next time!
